Who we are

Gino Zahnd
Founder

Gino has directed design teams at Adaptive Path, Flickr, Y! Travel, Kosmix, Splunk, and Volan Design. He got his start in the mid-90’s as an interaction designer and developer at Studio Archetype (acquired by Sapient), Small Pond Studios and Method. He stays grounded in the UX community by speaking at industry events, workshops, and universities. When not consumed with Seabright, Gino is likely riding a bicycle.

John Bragg
Founder

John started his career as a network security engineer at Capital One (before the caveman television adverts). After fighting the bad guys for years, he focused his energy on design simplicity and fast, elegant code. Most recently, he was head of Web Development at Kosmix (acquired by Wal-Mart). When he isn't writing code, John is tinkering with and/or restoring his 1967 Datsun 411 station wagon.

What we’re about

We started Seabright because we think there’s a better way for user experience companies to behave: build what you design. After all, it’s not actually designed until it works. We aren't in the deliverables business or strategy business. Deliverables and strategies are simply a means to an end. When you work with Seabright, you get beautiful, snappy, fully functional products that scale.

Over the past fifteen years we have designed and built commercially successful apps and services in social media, E-commerce, games, travel, information retrieval, data analytics, medical, finance, real estate, sports, and retail.

We have the chops to bring any UI to life at production scale, and our work is used by tens of millions of people every month.

We don’t like clients.

The word “client” connotes an old way of doing things when design firms handed over a stack of documents, and wished you the best in building your product. No iteration. No learning as you go. No working product.

We don’t want you to be our client.

Our style is defined by staying in a tight, iterative loop with your teams. Awesome software is built on collaboration and iteration, not design presentations. The web and peoples’ behavior changes daily; you can’t capture that with a stack of design specs. You have to build, react, and iterate.
