(And Action Playset*)
It's been annoying me forever, and I finally bothered to figure out how to turn off the annoying window resizing in Photoshop. I'm probably late to the party on this, but wow, it's one of the most annoying behaviors I've come across in my daily tools. Here's how to kill it:
1) Select the zoom tool (z)
2) In the options bar at the top, unselect the 'Resize windows to fit' box:
BONUS:
If you hate the new zoom behaviors, uncheck 'Scrubby zoom' as well.
It's little things like this that give me great pleasure; this one in particular was like cutting an albatross from my neck!

One of my other favorite Stupid Adobe Zoom Tricks™ is actually a OS X trick. The box-stock Cmd-Spacebar shortcut for Spotlight actually covers up the stock Adobe Cmd-Spacebar zoom shortcut.
I find it really handy to have Cmd-Spacebar and Cmd-Opt-Spacebar for instant + on - zoom action.
The way to get this hot little setup is to go into System Preferences, under Keyboard you'll find a tab called Keyboard Shortcuts. In the left window, click "Spotlight" and uncheck both of the boxes that come up.
